Team O'Neil is the world leader in advanced vehicle control driver training on all road surfaces. Take a tour of Team O'Neil's 600-acre headquarters facility in Dalton, NH and NH's scenic White Mountains. You will see their fleet of vehicles, be taken on a tour of the property, and meet the instructors that train drivers from all over the world in rally driving techniques. Guests will potentially see students conducting training and maybe even get a ride in a rally car. Exact details will be dependent on training being conducted that day, but Team O'Neil will try to accomodate as much activity as possible.
Two tour times are available. The tour will last about 2 hours. There will be no cost for the tour, but space will be limited!
Friday, October 10
Two time slots are available to choose:
1000 - 1200
1400 - 1600
The workshop aims to integrate the knowledge from the conference demonstrations, technical talks and assembled off-road mobility experts.
The schedule will follow this general order:
Panel discussion on Autonomy Methods for Off-Road Navigation motivated using specific questions of interest to the off-road community.
Short description and impressions from the live demonstration teams.
Open but guided discussion loosely adhering to an after-action review (AAR) or lesson’s learned format to recap:
What was planned
What was accomplished
The different approaches and what worked well or not-so-well
The overall level of effort of implementing specific technical solutions (overall effort meaning – the development/testing/training time to implement their specific algorithmic solution on a new platform, the fiscal and/or time cost related to hardware requirements or software development and testing time, the types of technical backgrounds of the engineers and students required to implement their solution confidently, etc.)
What could be improved for the future
The results of the workshop will be documented in a publication in the Journal of Terramechanics reporting on off-road autonomy techniques, suitability, issues, level of effort for operating in off-road environments, and concepts for future developments. The Autonomy demonstration and workshop is being planned by GVSC, CRREL and NATC. The workshop will be held at the CRREL auditorium so it is free of charge but registration is required. Sponsorships are welcome to help cover conference and demonstrations/tour costs.
