Abstract:
A mechanistic method of calibrating DEM parameters to mechanical responses of soil and dense granular matter is presented. DEM calibration literature was explored in detail and the evidence for systematic DEM calibration was tabulated. The resulting method was validated using physical test data in the existing literature.
